“Rice in nephrite cups” is a book full of author’s memories, a little autobiography in which memories mixes up with the culture, history and traditions of China. This book does not have a coherent story, it consists of many short stories, trainings, philosophies, exercises in self improvement and even few meals recipes. In this spiritual book where one can find a lot of great ideas and quotes also it is possible to get to know more about spiritual and philosophical things such as Feng Shui, Laodzi, Confucius wisdom, Chi education, Lotus principle and a lot more. The book directs where to find answers to all existing questions. Furthermore, it tells a lot of historical facts, Buddha’s texts, it has China’s wise men phrases analysis, for example: “If there is no fish, the shrimp will be good too”- one needs to be grateful for everything he has. If it is impossible to be happy right away, there is no point to be impolite, angry or to offend others.

The book title “Rice in nephrite cups” came from author’s grandmother’s wisdom. Every rice grain is all things that people do and the nephrite cup is life. If the cup is filled with good things (rice grains) then it becomes very important and life without good works is just an empty bowl, worth nothing.

When one reads the book, it is not enough to read it, it must be analyzed slowly, and every thought should be adjusted for oneself. Almost in every chapter tasks and thoughts for analysis are being given. When analyzing every detail step by step it is possible to achieve inner peace, to develop character, to strengthen senses, to get to know more not only about yourself but also about relatives or other people who are interesting.
