We are pleased to announce the lecture of the Smith College professor Justin Cammy who is a literary and cultural historian with research and teaching interests in Yiddish literature and Eastern European Jewish history:
„When Yiddish Was Young: The Last Generation”.

„Yung-Vilne“ was the last major Yiddish literary group in interwar Vilna. In this talk Justin Cammy will speak about its major writers, poets, and artists, all children of Vilna. How did the group balance the anxieties of the political moment, the ambition of youth, and their commitments to their hometown as the cultural capital of Yiddishland?”

The lecture will be in English.
