We invite you to bring your own hand made kites, while we will come prepared with 30 rendako kites, joined into three long strings, that were made by Japanese Iwate prefecture middle school children. J.Dobkevičius progymnasium students together with Gifu prefecture Yaocu town school students created 10 rokkaku (six-sided) kites and also one long string of 40 kites. During the kite making process, students decorated and gave Japanese and Lithuanian names for each one of them. Therefore, the kites will rise up named “Thank you”, “Freedom”, “Sun”, “Sakura”…

Kites made by school students are dedicated to the memory of Chiune Sugihara and the strengthening friendship and communication between Japan and Lithuania.
