Before the colourful cultural fair we would like to invite you to experience one of the most outstanding Japanese rituals by participating in demonstrations of tea drinking ceremony, held by the wife of the ambassador of Japan to Lithuania Mrs. Shgeeda Michiko. She will also be accompanied by a Lithuanian tea master Raimonda Strazdienė.
The main principles of tea ceremony include scilence, calmness, neatness and respect. During the ritual one steps into the perfect world of minimalism which proves that not much is needed for human soul and body. Every single sound and movement is important. Both the master and the guests show each other respect and admire the items used throughout the ceremony as well as the food, tea and the flower bouquet.
It is all of those strict details that make the ceremony complex, formal and calm. Traditional tea ceremony takes up to four hours.

The demonstration of the ceremony will take place in VMU Great Hall (Daukanto street 28) and will start at 11am.
