During the Sugihara Week we invite you to the world of Japanese fairy-tales. September 2, in V. Kudirka Library, the exhibition of the illustrations of the young artist Kotryna Šešelgytė will take place. Its official opening is September 2, 16:45.
The Exhibition of the Lithuanian and Japanese Folk Tales is a continuation of the book of Japanese folk tales that were translated to Lithuanian language and illustrated in 2014. Most of those fairy-tales are famous not only in Japan, but also worldwide. More…

International Centre of Litvak Photography presents photo-collage inspired and created from old photographies of one Litvak family who lived in Kaunas after WWII.
In this artwork, Richard Schofield, the Director of International Centre of Litvak Photography, tries to consider questions of ethnical, personal freedom and identity of one Litvak family who survived Holocaust and expresses hope for better future. Kyumeikan Kendo Dojo together with “Iniciatyvos Kaunui”, Lithuanian Kendo Association and Vytautas Magnus University Centre for Asian Studies presents Ch. Sugihara Kendo Tournament for mixed (ladies, men) teams. The Team can consist maximum of 3 players with the following positions and grades: “senpo” VII kyu – I kyu, “jiho” VII kyu – I kyu, and “chucken” I kyu – dan grades.

“If I forget you, Jerusalem..” by these words from 137 Psalm the author Mr. Antanas Stanevičius called his exhibition of photography on Jerusalem and Israel. The exhibition was born from his two travels to Israel in 2007 and 2011. In his artworks Mr. Stanevičius ties to solve the mystery of Israel’s strength by looking back into its past and present.

We invite you to the performance of a duo of choreographers and dancers from Sweden. This time the dancers are inviting to feel the Sugihara’s story in the space of Kaunas Railway Station, where Sugihara issued the last “Visas for Life” before leaving for Berlin. Kyrie Oda has performed Sugihara story inspired performances in Kaunas before: danced near the Sugihara Museum and the “Metropolis” Hotel.
Japanese Kyrie Oda and Swedish Love Hellgren have worked in Kaunas dance theatre “Aura” and lived in Kaunas for a few years. More…
