“Oriental way to recovery” – is a book, the title of which we can understand that there will be talking about the Eastern way of life. But the Journal mostly highlights medicine – the use of drugs, diet, various exercises, even the oriental philosophy. All of this author defines as “a way to live.” The question remains: „why is it oriental?“. Ishihara Yumi’s book attempts to reveal the differences between oriental medicine from the West, what people can change in order to achieve such results, as without any chemical preparations, only using natural products that could cure people with a cancer. It also tries to reveal what it would be if we united two different medical philosophies – Eastern medicine with Western medicine. That is what the book is all about.

Reading the first chapter, I asked myself why we in the West, when something just happens to our health we resort to pills and other medications. Why doctors do not offer to drink carrot juice, tea or use herbal preparations. Those questions in each section became stronger and stronger, and some new ones appeared, for example, why I do not try to help myself, and immediately start to trust others and start taking potent antibiotics that kill the viruses and not only the bad bacteria, but also the good one that is important to my body. Ishihara Yumi also speaks of therapeutic fasting and contaminated blood, how the human energy works and what can the Cold extremities mean.

After finally reading the book, I decided to first use natural, herbal therapies, and as soon as I catch a weak cold , not resorting to antibiotics. Also, the idea to combine the two medical philosophies fascinated me. Indeed, it would be interesting healing process, and I think that the results would also be even miraculous.

Ishihara Yumi was born in 1948, 28 of september, at Nagasaki (Japan). He graduated from School of Medicine of Nagasaki University, specialized in Hematology and obtained doctor’s degree in medicine.
