Vilnius University Confucius Institute invites all those who are interested in traditional art education in China to attend public lectures delivered by Prof. Cai Leiluo.
Cai Leiluo – Ph.D. in Education at Peking University; Associate Professor at Peking University School of Education; President of Cai Yuanpei Research Institute of Peking University.
Art education is the core of traditional education in China. More than 8000 years ago, there were musical instruments in China and 5800 years ago the patterns of dance appeared on the painted pottery pots that people used.
The lecture is divided into three parts:
1. What is the status of traditional Chinese art?
2. The historical development of Chinese art education: Art education of pre-Qin “Six arts”; Art education in the Qin and Han Dynasties; Official (imperial court) art education; Art education of folk artisans.
3. The evolution of Chinese art education thought: from ritual and moral education to the cultivation of temperament.
Venue: National Gallery of Art (Konstitucijos pr. 22, Vilnius).
