On September 5-6 the Centre of Oriental Studies of Vilnius University invites to the open lectures of Southeast Asian Studies expert dr. Yosef Djakababa:
September 5, Tuesday, 5.30 PM. “ASEAN community, regional integration, and the European Union”. The lecture will highlight the ASEAN community, the idea behind it, the Southeast Asia regional integration process, the impact and consequences of ASEAN community to other region in the world especially with The European Union within the context of regional integration.
September 6, Wednesday, 5.30 PM. “The troubling past of Indonesia: Cold War and the 1965 tragedy in Indonesia”. The lecture will highlight how the killings of both the Army Generals and the mass killings has massive ramifications to Indonesian social and political life not only during the Cold War period, but it continues to resonate until the present day.
Lectures will take place in the Centre of Oriental Studies of Vilnius University Hindi language room (Universiteto g. 5, Vilnius).
