During the Sugihara Week we invite you to the world of Japanese fairy-tales. September 2, in V. Kudirka Library, the exhibition of the illustrations of the young artist Kotryna Šešelgytė will take place. Its official opening is September 2, 16:45.
The Exhibition of the Lithuanian and Japanese Folk Tales is a continuation of the book of Japanese folk tales that were translated to Lithuanian language and illustrated in 2014. Most of those fairy-tales are famous not only in Japan, but also worldwide.
The artist, together with the interpreter Rūta Aleksandravičiūtė, is continuing her activities by introducing Japanese traditions and folklore for Lithuanian people, and also presenting Lithuanian traditions for Japanese audience. In May, 2017 the Japanese traditional culture and folklore were presented in the House of the Association of Writers (Vilnius). Later, in July, authors presented Lithuanian traditions in Tokyo, Ichinoseki and Tono cities.
You will also meet the artist Kotyna Šešelgytė during the Japanese Culture Fair on September 8, where she demonstrates Kamishibai.
