A TAXI DRIVER
Man-seob is a family man and an ordinary citizen who makes a living by driving a taxi in Seoul. Man-seob`s landlord demands a monthly rent of 100,000 won, so Man-seob is tempted to drive a foreigner who offered to pay the required sum 100,000 won for a 3 hrs ride to Gwangju. Peter, the man bound to Gwangju, is a reporter from a German public broadcaster. He gets a tip from his fellow journalist that a great deal seems to be happening in Gwangju. However, on their way to the city they are stopped at a military checkpoint, and only thanks to Man-seob`s quick wit and his determination to get the promised fare they succeeds in reaching their destination.
Upon arriving in Gwangju, Peter takes all the risks to set up interviews with the pro-democracy movement activists. Peter needs a back up from Man-seob but Man-seob senses some danger in this situation and tries to return to Seoul as soon as possible. But… an old woman hails the taxi to take her to a hospital in Gwangju and he couldn’t refuse her. Meanwhile, Peter assisted by a university student Jae-sik is documenting the tragedy of Korea’s modern history in Gwangju on his camera.
