Korean Language Contest

Date and time: 2019-03-04 14:30 - 2019-03-04 17:00

Location: 310 aud. V. Putvinskio g. 23

VMU is holding its annual Asian Week once again this spring and it will take place on March 4-8. The first day (March 4th) of this week long event will be dedicated to languages. As a result of it, Korean culture club “Hallyu” and VMU Asian Studies Centre is inviting you to participate in the Korean language contest. This time you will have to prepare for the contest in advance and write a short essay in Korean that you will have to present in front of the judges.

Requirements:
The topic for this year’s contest is “My Favorite…” (you will need to present either your favorite movie, drama, book or webtoon). You will have around 3-4 minutes to present it so write your essay according to how fast you can speak/read. We suggest to remember your text as much as you can but you will be able to look at it when needed.
The judges will take your intonation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, general structure and the flow of your text into consideration. Best contestants will be rewarded with Korean themed prizes.
Registration deadline: February 28

The participants will be divided into three levels according to their knowledge: beginner (levels 1-2 according to VMU Korean language courses), intermediate (levels 3-4 according to VMU Korean language courses) and advanced (level 5 and higher according to VMU Korean language courses). Every level will be evaluated separately.

We are inviting not only VMU students but the ones who are learning Korean in KSI as well!

Time and place: March 4th, 2:30 PM, V. Putvinskio street 23, class 310.
