Surimono Masterpieces – Hidden Beauty

For the first time in Lithuania, in 49 wooden engraving reveals the 12-19 century Japanese surimono art.

Out of the 11 artists presented in the exhibition, the most important place is occupied by an extraordinary personality and the most famous Japanese artist of all time – KATSUSHIKA HOKUSAI, who used not only traditional Japanese wood carving principles and techniques, but also a deep perspective he took from Europe – Prussian blue pigment. Due to these innovations in Japanese surimono tradition he has has become more understandable and recognizable to foreign and Western European audiences.

Exhibition visiting time:
Wednesday-Friday 10:00-18:00.

30 minutes before the closing time visitors are not allowed to enter expositions.
