This year on 7th of Mach we have our Culture Fair! Events happening this day will give you chance to know better ant to get closer to East Asian Countries culture.
The event will be opened by Confucian Institute’s prepared musical performances and sword dance which will be followed by KSI Kaunas lecturer Ms. Chaemin Kim with gayageum in the VMU Great Hall.
After this you will have a chance to talk with performers and to learn more about Chinese culture in booth prepared by Confucius Institute. There you will have a chance to try out pattern cutting, calligraphy and tea preparing workshops, play all sorts of games and try out China’s traditional clothes.
Further you will be invited to see activities prepared by Korean Culture Centre, such as playing traditional Korean game “Tuho”, decorating masks, doing calligraphy and trying out Korean traditional outfit – Hanbok.
Also, this year we will have a guest from Japan – Mr. Nobuya Miyata who will teach us about mikoshi culture. He will be with Embassy of Japan where you also will be able to see mikoshi, which will be coming from Japanese garden in Kretinga. Without that you will also be able to try out playing Japanese games, cutting out Origami and trying out Japanese traditional outfit – Kimono.
Japanese club “Hashi”, Korean culture club “Hallyu” and Chinese language and culture club “Wu Wei” will also be present in the fair and will invite you to join many interactive activities during the event. VMU Centre for Asian Studies will present their activities.
After getting tired you will be able to refresh yourself with “Formosa” drinks.
At the end of the event you will have an opportunity to participate in mikoshi carrying.
The day will be a full of experiences, so don’t miss it!
