„Swing Girls “(jp. スウィングガールズ), directed by Shinobu Yaguchi it is a relaxing comedy about unexpected love towards music. This 2004 movie got a decent recognition in Japan, the year it was released – in 28th Japan academy award, the movie won total of 7 awards, which included the “Most Popular Film” award.
Movie tells a story about 13 delinquent school girls, who during the summer make-up classes, talks the math teacher to let them deliver bento’s to the school’s brass band club, that left for a performance. What wouldn’t people do to skip some classes. During the trip that takes longer that it should have, the bento’s spoil and all but one member of the brass band are poisoned. As such, the girls are forced to substitute for the sick members, which is where the fun starts…
“Swing Girls” is an upbeat movie that can make you laugh and will undoubtedly pull you into the sincere and youthful plot full of feeling. A plot which shows the girls trip towards recognition of both oneself and music.
